Seven Bellarine artists who paint together at the Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House on a Wednesday are committed to developing their technique and challenge themselves to different styles and mediums.
The result, Painting Together, an exhibition that opens at the QNH House Gallery on 1st September and concludes on 25th September 2022. Exhibiting artist Renae Chapman: ‘Some of our group are sea changers, some not. Our common interest is to further develop our art while enjoying our friendship and our community, and the environment where we live. We have been together as a group for over 3 years some longer and our art and experience is diverse ranging from portrait, landscape, seascape, porcelain, acrylics, watercolour, oils, pen and ink.’ The seven artists exhibiting include: Renae Chapman: Acrylics and local scenes are Renae’s preference Fran Faulkner: Fran works mainly in ink and watercolour, but has begun printmaking in the last few years Sandra Gould: Sandra enjoys landscapes and portraits Trish Hanan: Trish works on porcelain and with watercolour, oils and acrylics. Beverley Kilpatrick: Beverley has been porcelain painting for 43 years and a credited APAT Teacher. She mainly paints flowers, jewel boxes and jewellery. Gillian McLeod: Gillian mainly paints in oil and is discovering the delights and difficulties of water colour. Ronda Symon: Ronda dabbles in pen, crayon and watercolour and as a portrait artist enjoys a challenge.
