Geelong Fibre Artists (GFA) based in Geelong are excited to exhibit their skills in the Forage Foliage Fibre exhibition at the Queenscliff Neighbourhood House Gallery 3 Tobin Drive, Queenscliff from 16 March to 14 April 2024.
GFA aims to promote an appreciation of weaving, keeping traditional skills alive, as well as utilising new techniques. GFA is interested in natural fibres gathered from gardens and also a wide variety of other material, including recycled and repurposed material. The range of items range from functional vessels to sculptural forms. The exhibition includes fibre artists: Margaret Farmer, Rosey Squire, Patricia Rademaker, Marg Watts, Jenny Wallace, Anthea Williams, Prue Presser, Chris Clark, Helen De Lange, Kate Suter, Lyn Dickson, Chrysanne Ferguson and Silvana Benacchio. The group meet once a month fostering a community of sharing of ideas, techniques, resources and friendship.
