Chair Pilates
Are you looking to improve your posture, flexibility, coordination, balance, and strength? Have you considered trying Chair Pilates? Our experienced instructor offers a variety of exercise options to suit each participant's unique body, strength level, and experience. This class is ideal for individuals with limited mobility, as it can be carried out while seated. The class is designed to aid those with stiff muscles, achy joints, difficulty bending, or recuperating from an injury or illness. You can comfortably perform all stretches while sitting in a chair without getting down on the floor. Golden Waves Crochet Throw
This throw is a one-row crochet pattern consisting of only 10 stitches, worked across the row. The stitches are mainly double trebles and trebles. Once you get past the first couple of rows, it becomes clearer which stitches fit in where. It is not too difficult. We used 8ply Fiddlesticks acrylic yarn (100g) and a size 4 hook, and it took 8 balls of yarn. It crocheted up really quickly and was fun to make. Winter knitting sock class
Sock knitting weather has arrived! Come and learn how to knit a pair of socks on a set of Double Pointed Needles and be guided through the process every step of the way. Some knitting experience is preferred but not essential. Class duration is 2 hours x 4 weeks You can buy all the materials/kit at the house for $35 or you can purchase your own materials and bring it on the first day. Contemporary Acrylics and Mixed media – Term 3 with Anne McMahon
This 8-week course will guide you through a number of art-making techniques including, painting, blind contour drawing, mono prints, stencilling, image transfer and collage. You will use a range of media including acrylic paints, liquid mediums, art markers, oil sticks, inks, charcoal, gesso, cold wax, and gels. You will learn how to construct your own collage papers, how to use the elements of colour, repetition, pattern, shape, to design and compose works, and how to layer different surfaces, textures and papers in the construction of small or large works. No experience is required for this course you will be guided step-by-step through each process and encouraged to create your own unique art works. Anne has been a practicing artist and active in visual arts and education for over 30 years. Oil Painting & Mixed Media with Nell Frysteen
This course offers a thorough exploration into oil painting and mixed media. Participants will enhance their abilities in colour mixing, texture creation, and applying diverse techniques. They'll delve into colour theory and composition, fostering their own artistic style. Nell will encourage experimentation with various materials for distinctive creations. Please bring any art supplies you have; Nell will advise on further resources tailored to your interests.
