Paint and Thread
Abstract painter Eve Kelly, and textile artist Janet Leckie who has repurposed doilies, are exhibiting their works at the Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House Art Gallery 4-30 April. The juxtaposition of these two styles serves to emphasize the skill of each artist. “Paint and Thread” Exhibition at QNH House Gallery 4 – 30 April 2022 Abstract painter Eve Kelly, and textile artist Janet Leckie, are exhibiting their works at the Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House Art Gallery this month. They have two different stories to tell. Eve Kelly, coming back from a stroke says ‘my right hand doesn’t work too well, but I can still paint! It’s good therapy and I intend to keep swinging my brush’. Janet Leckie has lovingly repurposed vintage doilies and enhanced this beautiful work rescued from bottom drawers, linen closets and op shops. The juxtaposition of these two styles serves to emphasize the skill of each artist. Belonging
