Family Mandala Creation A mandala is an arrangement of simple objects repeated in a circular pattern and comes from the Sanskrit word for circle. Mandala creation is a relaxing wellbeing, and artistic activity that is fun for all ages. The group will head out to the beachcomb for shells and materials. You are welcome to bring flowers from home. Co-hosted by the Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub. All children to be accompanied by their grownup at all times. Kids Craft: Puppet Making & Weaving Friendship Bracelets
Looking for kid’s crafts activities this school holidays? Check out our new craft program at QNH. In this workshop, participants will weave a friendship bracelet and make fun puppets, including an adorable unicorn and a snapping crocodile. The workshop is designed around the skills of weaving, folding, and cutting paper. The puppets are an excellent medium that can help children develop their imagination, sense of exploration, and creative abilities in an enjoyable, entertaining way. African Drumming for Everyone in the School Holidays
African Drumming is an energetic, entertaining, educational and authentic interactive cultural experience. The workshop will begin with short drum and dance demonstrations, before being introduced to the different instrument and guided through drumming rhythms, song, dance moves, stories. The Rhythms taught originate from the many West Africa ethnic groups especially Ghana, with a blend of ancient and traditional grooves that are part of everyday ceremony, and customs across Ghana. Traditional drums, shakers and bells are provided.
