Reduction Lino Print Workshops - Two half day sessions
According to Pip My linoprints are bursting with colour & energy. I like people to feel the emotion & share the memories conveyed in my prints of places I've visited or familiar scenes of garden, local spots, favourite pets or basically anything that " talks" to me. Every carved mark has a meaning & feeling. I like to work fast & have a certain rawness so that it does not convey an attempt at perfection (far from it)! Pip has shown in galleries in Geelong, Castlemaine, Ballarat & Ghana as well as being in many private collections.

Wednesday Watercolour with Nell Frysteen
Award winning artist and teacher Nell Frysteen will inspire you to take the plunge into watercolour. According to Nell, light does not exist for the painter as a tool, only colour and pigment. The illusion of light is created with colour. Nell takes a perceived visual field or object and translates it into coloured paint and shapes. The classes are suitable for beginners to advanced artists. Nell is a highly regarded mentor to a number of emerging artists on the Bellarine.

Friday Art with Ryan Brearly
Join one of QNH’s highly regarded tutors who has instilled a passion for art amongst all his students.
Australian Tonalist approach to Painting in Oils
This course will teach students a way in which to observe and to record using tonal masses and colour. The method was advocated by Max Meldrum from the late 1910s and has been a method that many well loved artists, like Clarice Beckett, have used. The tonalist method presents a strong framework for students to document what they see, and with time, what they feel. Meldrum believed that a person did not require any special ’talent’, that anyone could be taught to paint provided they applied themselves diligently. Suitable for all levels.
